Get Ready for New Spotify Music The Fresh Hub for Upcoming Album Drops

Spotify has launched a new feature called the Upcoming Releases hub which is intended to make it easier for fans to find new albums. The hub can be found under the Search tab on mobile devices as an Upcoming Releases tile, and it includes a tier device that offers personalized suggestions based on listening habits. Additionally, it also displays the top 10 Countdown Pages around the world by pre-saves.

The knob with the Upcoming Releases integrates fully with Countdown Pages, another feature launched in 2024. The hub allows fans to view the album tracklists, stream available singles, watch Clips, purchase related merchandise, and check out the countdown. Afterwards, Spotify sends notifications to users who have pre-saved the album, and the album’s music will automatically be added to the user’s library. Since Countdown Pages have been available, 60% of major artists including Charli XCX, Billie Eilish and Bad Bunny have expressed taking advantage of the feature to increase anticipation around albums.

Apart from the Upcoming Releases hub, Spotify intends to launch Countdown Charts on their social media platforms. The charts will showcase the top 10 Countdown Pages with album pre-saves every Wednesday, giving listeners an idea of the most anticipated albums. With these features, the company aims to support emerging artists and enable fans to better engage with the music.

Morning Star! Fans of Countdown pages, rejoice! Artists with 5K active listeners in the last 28 days can now create Countdown Pages for their upcoming projects. This is directly linked to the ‘Upcoming Releases’ hub and the forthcoming countdown charts, which can be seamlessly accessed via Spotify for Artists.

Fret not fans, the Upcoming Releases hub is now also available on the Spotify app! All you need to do is go to the Search tab and click the “Upcoming Releases” tile. Get ready to explore and pre-save your favorite albums!
